Fifth annual UW Meets EC brings the campus into the community

Story by Lindsey Ambrosius, Multimedia Editor

Students were bussed to Phoenix Park where they were greeted by local businesses. Not all participating businesses are located in the downtown area, but they still wanted to take part in the event.

Students were given maps to all the participating downtown businesses and were free to explore what they had to offer.

Along the way businesses gave away free goodies and offered coupons and deals for students. There were also street performers from both the campus and community as students walked around.

The route ended in Owen Park where the night finished off with a live musical performance by local band, Them Coulee Boys.

This year was the biggest year for the event so far with almost 80 businesses taking part.
