The Spectator is the student newspaper of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. It began as a weekly tabloid in 1923 and has grown to a biweekly publication.

The Spectator is published online every week (11 editions per semester) and printed every other week (5 regular editions plus 1-2 special editions per semester) during the school year except for vacations and holidays. Distribution on campus is free.

The Spectator is a university publication published under the authority granted to the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System. Publication costs are paid using segregated fees allocated through the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate Finance Commission.

The Spectator is published at Printing Services on the UW-Eau Claire campus, 105 Garfield Ave., Schofield Hall 18, Eau Claire, WI 54701. The Spectator is a member of the Associated Collegiate Press and the Wisconsin Newspaper Asssociation.
