Quite Frankly: Tapping into my inner psychic per position

Everyone wants to know which players are going to score the most Fantasy points the rest of the season, and they’ve come to the right place.

After staring long into my crystal ball, going through my Tarot cards and playing for hours with my Ouija board, I’ve come to some pretty solid conclusions.

During the next three weeks, I will detail who I think the top scorers will be the rest of the way at each of the three main positions (running back, quarterback, and wide receiver). You might be surprised by some of my findings.

    Position this week: running backs.

    Story continues below advertisement

    1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings

Peterson is again proving why Fantasy owners draft him near to the top of the draft every year. To put it simply, the guy just never has a bad game.

His worst game was an 87-yard affair in the season opener in which he still tallied 9 points.

Any thoughts that Peterson was now the second best Fantasy option after the Titan’s Chris Johnson have fallen quickly by the wayside.

With a relatively formidable schedule the rest of the way, Peterson owners can sit back and enjoy the ride.

    2. Arian Foster, Texans

Before the season began, the thought of Foster finishing anywhere in the top five would have been laughable. Now Foster has a legitimate shot at challenging for the overall scoring title.

Foster has the explosive potential to go off for 40 points any week, and his shiny 19.7 points per game average is very impressive.

My only skepticism comes from the fact that he has never done this before and faces a few stingy defenses down the stretch. Consider that skepticism minimal.

    3. Frank Gore, 49ers

Quite Frankly, Frank Gore has a great name. He also looks like one mean dude in his player profile picture on ESPN.

Aside from those great statistics, I love his Fantasy potential. Gore seems to never get as much attention as he deserves. He has been a total workhorse for the Niners and has had at least 13 points in six out of the eight weeks.

After a bye this week, he has St. Louis, Tampa Bay and Arizona in consecutive games, which are all very appealing matchups.

    4. Darren McFadden, Raiders

Yes, McFadden is in my top five scorers for the rest of the year, and I don’t even think it’s close. I would argue he could even be higher up in this list.

The guy is the third leading scorer so far and that’s after sitting out for two weeks with a hamstring injury. He was a game-time decision in what would have been his third straight game out, and ended up rumbling his way to four touchdowns and 43 Fantasy points.

As Oakland continues to be competitive, they will continue to try to run the ball, and that bodes well for McFadden owners.

    5. Jamaal Charles, Chiefs

What?! No Chris Johnson? Where is Steven Jackson? How could I leave out Rashard Mendenhall or Michael Turner?

Before you completely discredit my Fantasy knowledge forever, remember that this is my ranking for who I think will score the most points the remainder of the season.

The Chiefs finally seem to realize what Fantasy owners have known the entire year: that Charles is the guy who has far more talent (over Thomas Jones) and should be getting the most touches.

Charles had just 3 more rushes than Jones last week, and gained 70 more yards! 70! Hopefully this finally means Charles is on his way to getting more and more work.

The cherry on top for me is his ridiculously easy schedule down the stretch. Like an almost-best-case-scenario stretch of games. Expect Charles to feast.

    Best of the rest

    6. Chris Johnson, Titans
    7. Rashard Mendenhall, Steelers
    8. Steven Jackson, Rams
    9. Maurice Jones-Drew, Jaguars
    10. Michael Turner, Falcons
