The UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer team captured their first conference championship Saturday by defeating UW-Superior 4-0 at Bollinger Field.

The Blugolds are only the fourth different team to capture the title. UW-La Crosse and UW-River Falls have won it once, and UW-Stevens Point has won it 11 times.

The Blugolds did not allow a single shot on goal, out-shooting the Yellowjackets 14-0. The shutout was Eau Claire’s second in as many days.

Friday the Blugolds traveled to Menomonie and came away with a 0-0 tie with UW-Stout.
