Alarcon memorial service set

A memorial service for mathematics professor Eberth Alarcon, 40, who died Sept. 26 after battling acute leukemia, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in Schofield Auditorium.
At 4 p.m. there will be a silent procession from the auditorium to the Council Fire Room in Davies Center.

Gifts in his memory can be donated to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, which established the Eberth Alarcon Memorial Scholarship Fund and a benefit fund to help with expenses. “Alarcon Help Fund” or “Alarcon Scholarship Fund” need to be specified and checks should be made payable to the Foundation.

A benefit is also scheduled to help with medical expenses for 7:30 p.m. Friday in the upper level of Stella Blues, 306 E. Madison St. A donation of $10 is suggested and the benefit will include a silent auction.
The flags on Schofield Hall will be flown at half-staff on the day of the memorial service.
