BREAKING NEWS: Wade, Marx win tight election

Taking 40 percent of votes cast this week in the Student Senate elections, senior Chad Wade and running mate junior Meredith Marx won the presidential race.

Bourgeois/Nelson 433
Olson/Snyder 290

“I’m overjoyed,” Wade said after seeing the results Thursday night, “but we’ve got a lot of work to do yet.”
Juniors Bob Bourgeois and running mate Lindsey Nelson came in second with 35.2 percent and senior Scott Olson and his running mate junior Dawn Snyder took third with 23.6 percent.

Student voter turnout declined from last year by 32.5 percent, with 1,231 votes cast in this election. President Adrian Klenz attributed the drop in turnout to the lack of referendums on the ballot, but said the turnout was better than he expected.
