The Brewing Projekt will host local vendors on Saturday afternoon.

Note: “We pick three” is a rotating column where Spectator writers pick their top three upcoming events in the Chippewa Valley.

Pop Up Art Show: Caffe Tempo will be hosting a pop up art show over the weekend featuring 13 different artists. From reclamatory art to printmaking and acrylic paintings, there will be a variety of pieces to see.

This will be the first pop up show at this location and the first art show in many years for artist Kimberly Bauer.

“It’s always so fun to see people’s reactions and the emotions that it evokes,” Bauer said.

Bauer, a printmaker, said she works with light and the sense of feeling. Bauer said her art usually brings up memories for the viewers, like a summer day or something from childhood.

Because the event is at a coffee shop, the artists are expecting a lot of questions about their art and a lot of creative minds, artist Mikki Bestul said.

“It’s stressful but it’s also really cool because you open people’s minds up to different reactions,” Bestul said.

Bauer and Bestul are just two of the artists that will be at the show. One will find many types of art work here, all while supporting local artists.

The Pop Up Art Show will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28 at Caffe Tempo, 2530 Golf Road.

Leap Day Vendor Market: Head down to The Brewing Projekt for local artists, shops, makers and bakers. This market is free to enter and is for all ages. Beer will be available to enjoy for those of the legal drinking age.

Taylor Pieper, the taproom and events manager said all vendors are local and will be selling their own product.

“We’ve got wood workers, people who make their own jewelry, people who make their own essential oils, bookstores and Glass Orchard will be here with some of their glass products,” Pieper said.

There won’t just be crafts to buy: Together Farms will also have a food truck at the market, Pieper said.

Together Farms has their own farm where they grow and raise everything themselves, Pieper said. They will have a range of things to buy like pies, baked goods and homemade stationary items.

This market is a great outlet for vendors to sell, Pieper said. She hopes a lot of people will come out and see all they have to offer.

The Leap Day Vendor Market is from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 at The Brewing Projekt, 1807 N Oxford Ave.

Sunday Night Bingo: Every Sunday night, one can enjoy bingo for free at The Plus. There’s a chance to win food, beverages and giveaways.

One can participate in the buy one get one drinks along with full restaurant service while playing bingo. There is no need to purchase anything though, one can be there just for a bingo game!

Cullen Ryan, the host of bingo night, said it’s all ages and a laid back environment. The players just come in and head over to the dining room for the game. He said there’s a chance to win many different prizes.

“Sometimes just weird stuff, usually free food, free beverages or free tickets for events that are coming up,” Ryan said.

There’s also a chance to win the grand prize, which goes up $20 every week until someone wins, Ryan said. In the two years these bingo nights have been happening, there’ve been three winners.

The Plus tries to keep bingo nights fast-paced with six or seven games played in a night, Ryan said.

Sunday Night Bingo is from 8 to 9:30 p.m. every Sunday at The Plus, 208 S. Barstow St.
