The Spectator staff spoke with senior Ben Freeman, president of the Anime Appreciation Society, and got the scoop.
1. What is the Anime Appreciation Society?
We are a group of people who get together once a week, watch Japanese anime and discuss what we like and don’t like about it.
2. What activities does the Anime Appreciation Society do?
We meet for about three hours a week and watch part of a series that we have voted on. We are also involved with No Brand Con, the anime convention that takes place in Eau Claire every year. Once a year we have a “brain spike,” where we watch an entire series over one entire day.
3. Who is involved?
Most years, about 20 people show up regularly.
4. When and where does the organization meet?
We meet Wednesdays at about 7 p.m. in the Potawatomi Room in Davies Center. For more information, e-mail me at [email protected].
