Welcome back to another week of Ask Anything. We’re coming to you live from the funniest page in the Showcase section. Man, have you read Steve Sorensen’s stuff? If you haven’t, do it right now. I’ll wait. I think that guy is a genius, and according to Ali, and the length of Steve’s facial hair, he is.
Dear Ask Anything,
I’m really confused as to what to do for spring break. Every year so far, I’ve just gone home and worked. I feel like I need a real spring break, but not an expensive one. Any suggestions?
– Broke and Buggin’
Hey Broke, I can totally relate. So I’ve come up with a few options to make your spring break less sucky.
1. Makeÿa spring break documentary. My friend Miranda and I used to do this all the time. Not just about spring break, mind you, but whenever we had a few spare days. Our most memorable film was titled “UFOs in Kaukauna.” It involved a roll of tin foil, some sequins and a fishing pole. After casting our UFOs into trees, we stole my dad’s video camera and made scary noises in the background while we taped. It was the jam. Your movie doesn’t have to be as lame, but its a good idea nonetheless.
2. Tour Wisconsin. I had this friend, let’s call him Alex, who did this his senior year of high school. But their road trip involved going to all the cities in Wisconsin with dirty names. After glancing at a map of Wisconsin, I suggest you go to Sweet Bush, Cherry Valley and Spread Eagle. From what my friend told me, the easiest way to find Spread Eagle is to look at Iron Mountain, Michigan. It’s right across the border.
3. Go on a brewery tour, or several. I’m not going to lie, this is definitely a 21-plus idea. But it’s possible, even if you’re not going to leave the Eau Claire area. Leinie’s offers tours every half hour every day of the week. For hours and times, you gotta check out their Web site.
I hope this helps you out, at least a little bit.
