Local band Amateur Love will be performing Friday at Stones Throw, 304 Eau Claire St., along with Kid Dakota and Revolver Modele.
Friday’s show starts at 9:30 p.m. and has a $3 cover charge.
The band will showcase material off its debut, “Amateur Love EP,” from 8 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Stones Throw.
I’ve had the opportunity to listen to several of the EP’s nine tracks and I can say, without any doubt, this band is going places.
It has the talent and the lyrical genius to make it as a mainstream band.
Its sound is a mix of eccelectic and art-pop, with an edgy style that hooks you the second you hear lead singer Josh Scott brace the mic.
Two of the band’s tracks have graced Wolf 108’s airwaves: “I Need You Now” and “Con a Sewer.”
Although the band hasn’t been on the scene long – it started last March – Amateur Love will be sure to draw in the masses and make a mark on our town.
