The UW-Eau Claire men’s cross country team traveled to La Crosse this weekend to compete in the Jim Drews Invitational 8K run at the Maple Grove Country Club. The Blugolds placed eighth out of 17 teams.
All Blugold runners were able to finish within a minute and a half of each other. Junior Adam Condit finished first for Eau Claire with a time of 26:13.7, which put him 30th overall. Senior Jeff Burkart took second for the Blugolds and 43rd overall with a time of 26:37.8, followed by junior Ben Schmiege, who finished with a time of 26:43.7.
Junior Micah Hernandez followed with a time of 27:06.2; followed by senior Matt Goertz with a time of 27:19.8. Sophomore Jake Ebner came in next, with a time of 27:37.7 and freshman Ted Lillie rounded off the Blugolds, coming in at 27:37.9.
First place went to UW-Madison, which finished with an average time of 24:54.2.
