Viennese Ball 2012

A night of music, dancing and dining filled the almost unrecognizable Davies Center this past weekend as the 38th Annual Viennese Ball kicked off.

The event, presented by University Centers, the Department of Music and Theatre Arts and the Center for International Education, is modeled after the historic New Year’s Eve Kaiser Ball, which is held annually in Vienna.

Since its inception, the proceeds of the event have gone toward more than $1 million in scholarships, including the Wilhelm & Ingrid Brauner International Study award, which was given this year to senior Ross Christianson, who will be studying in Austria in the fall.

The Viennese Ball has been held in the current Davies since the first V-Ball in 1974, but will move to the new W.R. Davies Center for next year’s event.
