Turnovers hurt Blugolds in loss to Warhawks

The Blugolds suffered their 8th conference loss on the season Saturday at Zorn Arena, falling to UW-Whitewater 71-62 in an back and forth battle.

Senior guard Jordan Petersen had 14 points in the first half and UW-Eau Claire held a one point lead going into halftime.

The nationally ranked Warhawks pulled away in the second half, increasing their record to 15-4 (8-3).

Turnovers were an important part of the game. The Blugolds turned the ball over 19 times and couldn’t capitalize on 13 Warhawk mistakes, scoring zero points off turnovers.

Eau Claire will host UW-Oshkosh at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Zorn Arena.
