Look ahead at UW-Eau Claire’s spring sports

Spring sports have started at UW-Eau Claire. 

The men’s and women’s basketball teams are midway through their seasons. The men’s team played a total of 23 conference games, with a record of 14-9. The women’s team also played 23 games, with a record of 17-6. 

Both teams have upcoming games on Feb. 15 at UW-Stout. 

The men’s baseball team has exhibition games starting on Feb. 17. Their first conference game will be held at noon on Saturday, March 25 at UW-Whitewater, according to blugolds.com

Their first home game is scheduled at noon at Carson Park on Apr. 1. The game will be held in honor of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. 

The men’s and women’s hockey teams will continue their season this spring. According to blugolds.com, the men’s team has played 14 conference games this season, with a record of 8-5-1. The women’s team has played nine conference games, earning them an 8-1 record. 

Men’s wrestling is nearing the end of its season. They are scheduled to compete at the Upper Midwest Regionals on Feb. 24-25. Their season is set to end after the NCAA Championships on March 10-1 in Roanoke, Virginia. 

So far this season, they have taken two first-place titles at duals, according to blugolds.com

The men’s tennis team is on a three-game win streak to start their season. The team will head to the NJAC finals on April 29 in New Jersey. The NCAA Championship will be held on May 14 in Rome, Georgia. 

According to blugolds.com, the women’s tennis team will pick their season back up on Feb. 25 at Carthage College. Earlier in the year, the team was on a five-game win streak. 

The women’s gymnastics team has a 2-3 record this season. Their upcoming meet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Hamline University. 

They will attend the WIAC Championship on March 11 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. On March 25, the team will go to the NCGA Nationals in Winona, Minnesota. 

The Men’s and Women’s indoor track and field teams end their season at the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 10-11 in Birmingham, Alabama. 

The outdoor track and field season will pick back up at noon on April 7 at the Ashton May Invitational in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

According to blugolds.com, the women’s lacrosse team lost their first two games in Georgetown, Texas. Their next game is at 1 p.m. on March 4 in River Falls, Wisconsin. 

The softball team will have their first conference game at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 in Mankato, Minnesota. Their first home game will be held on April 4 against the University of Northwestern – St. Paul.

Finally, the men’s and women’s swim and dive teams will compete in the WIAC Championships from Feb. 15-18 in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. 

The NCAA Diving Zones will be held from Feb 22 through 25, and the NCAA Championships will be held from March 15-18, according to blugold.com.
