When the words, “I’ve started watching this streamer,” leave someone’s mouth, fear often fills their companion, given the constant scandals revolving around streamers. However, that is not the reaction of people who know of the man who goes by CaseOh.
CaseOh is a very popular Twitch streamer, with almost 8 million followers on the platform, over 9 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel and 2 million subscribers on his second channel, MoreCaseOh.
I was first introduced to CaseOh on TikTok by many different viral clips from his various streams, but one that stuck out and really made me lock in and watch his videos was his series on the game Waterpark Simulator and his park called the Gooblagoon.
The clips I had seen online of the worst-case scenarios happening to CaseOh had actually made me burst out laughing, which is something I find rare in the times of “clip farming.” CaseOh was actually able to make me throw my head back laughing until my stomach hurt.
CaseOh plays a wide range of games, mostly focusing on horror. To be explicit, this is not my typical gameplay. Somehow, CaseOh makes it enjoyable for me to watch with his commentary and Twitch chat.
Listen, I am by no means a “typical gamer.” I define myself more as a cozy gamer, with games like The Sims or Stardew Valley.
However, when watching CaseOh’s streams, I honestly find myself captivated and don’t feel the need to be doing something else with my hands.
CaseOh is just funny in general. His humor has a wide range, and he can laugh at the criticism his viewers give him. It is refreshing to see a male streamer who is enjoyable and funny to people of any gender; He does not cater to any specific one.
A lot of the time, when I’m scrolling on TikTok and a video of him pops up, I always see some of the same comments, but ones that stick out say something along the lines of “he is the bear women were talking about.”
One moment that comes to mind in relation to this comment is something that happens in his GoobLagoon series.
In the game, there are multiple variations of guests you see throughout your water park, good or bad, and one is the “pervert.” This non-playable character (NPC) requires users to see them taking photos of guests, and the way to “beat” the NPCs is by literally beating them up.
When CaseOh comes across these customers, he does not go lightly. Not only is he screaming at them to leave his park, but he also chases them down, hitting them with a hammer or sledgehammer.
Alongside his ability to commit to the bit, I find it hilarious that while CaseOh does not curse, he still somehow manages to say some of the most out-of-pocket things I have ever heard. Especially when it comes to Resident Evil character, Chris Redfield.
Phrases like “Does he curse? No, worse,” are often found in comment sections after a crazy comment by him.
I have recently finally bit the bullet and bought my subscription to him on Twitch, paying $8 a month to watch his streams without ads. Honestly, it is worth it. As someone who needs something in the background at all times, it is worth every cent.
Another thing I admire about CaseOh is his appreciation for all of those who pay for the subscription, and he does not blame people for those who don’t get one. He always acknowledges how sometimes people don’t have the $8 to spare, and doesn’t want them to waste it on him.
CaseOh is honestly a light in a very dark community, as every day there seems to be a new streamer scandal.
