Swimming and diving falls to Gustavus

The UW-Eau Claire women’s swimming and diving team fell to host Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) 200-100 at the Lund Center on Saturday.

 

Amanda Baker finished the day in first in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 270.60 and 293.10 points.

 

Kate French, who is a junior from Hartland, earned second place in both events with a score of 242.25 and 247.20 points.

 

Lisa Reed, a senior from Duluth, Minn., won in the women’s 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:04.55 and finished second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.28. Maddie Gray, a Junior from Roseville, Minn., finished second in the Women’s 100 and 200 Yard Backstroke with times of 1:02.30 and 2:14.04.

 

Emma Smith, a Senior from Hales Corners came in third in the women’s 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:08.48. Thomas Hensen, a sophomore from Delafield finished first in the Men’s 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 56.06 seconds and nine points.

 

Baker won in the women’s three-meter dive with a score of 293.10. Kate French came in second in this event with a score of 247.20.

 

Evan Koch, a senior from Oak Creek finished first in the men’s 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.50 seconds and nine points.


The Blugolds will next travel to La Crosse and compete against UW-La Crosse in a WIAC dual meet that will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
