Sophomore guard erupts for six 3-pointers in win

The UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team earned its third conference win over the weekend as the Blugolds defeated UW-River Falls 73-65.
Sophomore guard Adam Hjelter had a career-high scoring effort as he accounted for over half of his team’s overall score en route to a 39 point effort.
The game was filled with runs by both sides as the lead changed hands 18 different times. Eau Claire’s largest lead in the game was 11 points, and the Falcons never grabbed a lead larger than three.
The Blugolds outscored River Falls 20-12 over the final 12 minutes of play and hit six free throws in the final 25 seconds to ultimately win by eight points.
