    Late run fuels comeback for men’s basketball

    The UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team defeated conference rival UW-La Crosse 69-64 Saturday night to bring their overall record to 9-9 on the season.
    The game featured 14 lead changes in the second half alone. Four of the five Blugold starters scored in double-digits, led by Sophomore guard Lewis Mau’s 14.
    The Blugolds were down by 15 points with just over eight minutes to play in regulation but ended the game on a 19-5 run to come away with a win.
    Eau Claire had a sizeable advantage at the foul line, going 24-32 on free throws compared to La Crosse’s 8-14 from the line.
    The loss drops La Crosse to 12-6 on the season. The Blugolds will take on UW-Superior Wednesday in Superior.
