After losing two games, the Eau Claire men’s basketball team seemed to be back on track with two wins against UW-River Falls and UW-Oshkosh.
“We’ve got a good solid group of kids that have continued to work hard, and they are climbing up the ladder,” coach Terry Gibbons said. “We’ve got some good games left and it’s going to be very exciting.”
The Blugolds lost 57-44 to UW-Stevens Point Wednesday night.
Prior to the game, Gibbons said he wanted to make sure the Blugolds were taking care of the ball.
“We don’t want to give them any transition points,” he said. “We want to make sure we play patient and deliberate.”
Senior Dan Beyer led the team with 17 points. Sophomore Geoff Probst had nine.
The loss Wednesday night brings Eau Claire’s record to 4-4 in the WIAC and 10-7 overall.
The Blugolds will take on UW-La Crosse at 5 p.m. at home on Saturday.
