Keeping up with the Kar-fashions

Students share how they stay warm and stylish in the fall

Leaves are changing colors, the temperature is dropping, everything is pumpkin spice flavored and fall is officially here. ‘Tis the season to have a bonfire, jump in a pile of leaves and snuggle up in throw blankets.

Fall fashion is all about staying warm and comfortable, but how does one maintain those aspects while still looking stylish? I walked around campus searching for answers.

Take advantage of outerwear like jackets, vests and flannels, but don’t forget about transitional pieces like t-shirts and long sleeves for layering. Sweaters and hoodies are always practical for Eau Claire’s fall weather — keep them casual with a pair of boots, some go-to jeans or leggings. Adding autumnal colors like mustard yellow and burgundy with accessories like beanies, socks and scarves can add a festive touch to any outfit.

Never feel obligated to look stylish all the time —  be practical, comfortable and dress for the weather and occasion. Tip: wool socks are a great idea to keep those toes warm.
