Bush handling self, U.S. properly since Sept. 11

President Bush came into the White House a few months ago following the most controversial presidential election in the history of the United States.

He, like any other president, has supporters and detractors – those that thought he wasn’t fit to run the country.

But during what has been the most important days in years – the days since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States – Bush has handled his duties as president very well.

Bush has remained in the spotlight much more than many might expect, considering he could be a terrorist target. He also has remained strong about America’s plans to get retribution for the acts of war that took place on that fateful Tuesday morning.

Surveys and political polls aren’t the lone indicator of whether a president is doing a good job, but the fact that those measuring sticks have shown overwhelming support for Bush since the incidents can only be good.

Some say that approval ratings and overall support for presidents is imminent during any time of national crisis, but this is not totally the case.

True, some anti-Bush citizens might tone down certain criticisms as to avoid causing controversy at such an important time, but the fact that so many people are behind Bush and support the decisions he has made shows that, at least to this point, he has handled his duties very well in what is a very difficult time.
