  • Many floats tossed out sweets, some threw objects — likes these “Blugold Fever” footballs — into the crowd.

  • The UW-Eau Claire Homecoming parade commenced with the sounds and moves of the BMB.

  • UW-Eau Claire’s TV-10, who walked down first Avenue. chanting and laughing, pose for a photo.

  • The UW-Eau Claire Cheer and Stunt Team traveled down first Avenue. with extra pep in their step.

  • Some organizations, like SNEHA, included props and costumes. SNEHA handed out pumps of hand sanitizer and had an electric rodent that scurried alongside them.

  • Student National Environmental Health Association members incorporated a bike trolley, among other props.

  • Some of The Spectator staff were featured in the parade, boasting a banner and handing out candy and newspapers.

  • The Spectator Multimedia Editor, Kar Wei Cheng, handed out newspaper to locals lining the street.

  • Student Senate handed out water bottles and candy to the crowd. Hillary Smith was one senate member handing out candy.

  • Fourth and Water representatives handed out water bottles. Their floated boasted a sign that said “Life is Better with Water.”

  • The Waterski and Wakeboard Club pulled members behind a boat loaded in the bed of a truck.

  • The Homecoming parade celebrated current and past students. Alumni were featured in a train of fancy cars and many served candy and smiles to the crowd.

The UW-Eau Claire Homecoming parade is one of the many Homecoming traditions. It follows 1st Ave. and functions as a celebration of UW-Eau Claire’s past and current students, various organizations and staff members. This year’s parade featured, in this order, Campus Police, Color Guard, the Blugold Marching Band, Alumni, staff and scholarship winner, the Altoona Fire Department, the Cheer and Stunt Team, TV-10, the Blugold Mile, Women’s Volleyball, Student National Environmental Health Association, College Cancer Collaborative, The Mayberry Guru, The Spectator, the Waterski and Wakeboarding Club, Miss Northern Lights, the Dance Team, Eau Claire Student Nurses Association, Men’s Basketball, Fourth and Water, College of Business Student Advisory Board, Bridgman Hall Kazoo Band, Student Senate and UAC.
