As of Sept. 22, the number of current positive cases of COVID-19 on campus rests at five cases, with the cumulative amount of positive tests resting at 233.
The UW-Eau Claire COVID-19 Dashboard also reports there are 80 students in quarantine and 20 in isolation.
Since the last COVID On Campus issue, the number of positive tests have increased by 20 cases. On the Rice Lake campus there are two positive cases, whereas the Marshfield campus remains at zero positive cases.
In addition to the UW-Eau Claire dashboard, Eau Claire County has also set up the Eau Claire County COVID-19 Information Hub to keep residents updated. The information in this article is current as of 10:44 a.m. this morning, Sept. 22.
There are currently 1,617 positive cases in Eau Claire and six recorded deaths due to COVID-19.
The site also lists pressing updates for Eau Claire County residents, including state orders from Gov. Tony Evers. The orders concern wearing masks when indoors and around others, and the declaration of a public health emergency, also known as Executive Order 90 and Executive Order 1.
Below this pinned news is a link to the updated Eau Claire County COVID-19 Prevention and Control Order, which is currently set to be in place from Sept. 18 to Oct. 1.
Residents of Eau Claire County can check if there are potential risks of COVID-19 at establishments they visit within the Exposures and Public Health Investigations tab of the same website.
Currently, the only establishment listed for potential exposure is Brothers Bar & Grill from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13.
The page also has a warning at the bottom concerning phone scammers acting as contact tracers.
“Contact tracers will never ask for your social security number or financial information,” the warning says. “Contact tracers will reach out by phone, text or email; ask how you are feeling; ask for general information; provide information on how long you need to stay home and monitor symptoms.”
For those curious about the state of other UW System schools, there is a public dashboard which links to all of the UW System schools’ current dashboards.
The UW-Madison dashboard shows a total of 2,684 students who tested positive for COVID-19, as well as 49 staff members. The UW-Milwaukee dashboard reports a total of 196 cases at its main campus.
UW-La Crosse is under a shelter-in-place order as of 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. The UW-La Crosse dashboard has a list of positive cases from the past 10 days. From Sept. 12 to Sept. 21, there are 213 positive PCR tests.
The UW System dashboard also has links for the UW System schools in Platteville, Stevens Point, Whitewater, Oshkosh, Stout, Superior, River Falls, Green Bay and Parkside.
In the Monday, Sept. 21 update on the UW System daily report dashboard, UW-Madison is in the lead of positive reports at 185 positive tests. UW-Green Bay and UW-Parkside are tied for last with zero positive results.
UW-Eau Claire is tied with the UW-Stout with 14 positive cases on Monday and is behind UW-La Crosse by one case.
