Student Senate confirms director appointments for 62nd Session

Chief of staff and parliamentarian also appointed

Austin Northagen, the newly appointed student office of sustainability director, gives his speech before being confirmed.

Student Senate confirmed the appointments of 8 of 9 commission directors, the chief of staff and the parliamentarian for the 62nd Session at Monday evening’s general meeting.

The candidate for the Communications director, Peter Currie, was not appointed.

Appointed directors are as follows:

 

Chief of Staff – Hillary Smith

Smith served on Senate as an off-campus senator on the 61st Session.

 

Academic Affairs Director – David Miller

Miller served as the Academic Affairs Director on the 61st Session.

 

Campus Affairs Director – Alexandra Kurutz

Kurutz served as an on-campus senator on the 61st Session. She was previously the secretary and the student life coordinator on the Campus Affairs commission.

 

Senate Equity Director of the Equity in Student Matters Commission – Anna Ziebell

Ziebell served as an on-campus senator on the 61st Session. She has also been involved in the Academic Affairs commission, the Intergovernmental Affairs commission, the Equity in Student Matters Commission and Blugold Beginnings.

 

Finance Director – Dier Pulatov

Pulatov served as the finance director on the 61st Session. He is also an intern at U.S. Bank and has worked closely with the Chancellor’s Office during the segregated fee budgeting process.

 

Information Technology Commission Director – Alex Stout

Stout served as the information technology commission director on the 61st Session. This is his fourth year on Student Senate, and it will be his third year involved with the IT commission. 

 

Intergovernmental Affairs Director – Charlie Johnson

Johnson has been involved with the intergovernmental affairs commission for two years, although he has never served as a senator on Student Senate.

 

Student Office of Sustainability (SOS) Director- Austin Northagen

Northagen served as an off-campus senator on the 61st Session. He also served on the SOS commission and was involved in the planning of Earth Claire.

 

University Activities Commission Director – Nicole Miller

Miller served as the UAC director during the second semester of the 61st Session. She has been involved in UAC for three years.

 

Parliamentarian – Loralei Zimbauer

Zimbauer served as the parliamentarian on the 61st Session.
