Bill to include UW-Barron County in Student Body Constitution withdrawn

The author of a bill to amend the Study Body Constitution to include UW-Barron County withdrew it at Student Senate’s meeting Monday night.
UW-Barron County representatives attended the open forum of Senate’s meeting to voice concern that the process was “rushed” and that Barron County’s student government hadn’t received an adequate amount of time to discuss its contents.
Eau Claire Student Body President Katy McGarry said the amendments wouldn’t change the functioning of either student government bodies, but instead would recognize Barron County as another shared governance body.
The bill, if passed, would have extended shared governance rights to the Barron County student government.
Nick Webber, the bill’s author and Eau Claire student body vice president, withdrew the bill once it was brought to the table for a reintroduction.
