Student Senate passed a bill Monday to allocate $1,500 to UW-Eau Claire’s American Marketing Association (AMA) Chapter.

The allocation will help AMA cover traveling costs for an upcoming marketing competition and networking event this weekend. Not attending this event would strip the UW-Eau Claire AMA Chapter’s membership in the Platinum Circle, a title recognizing top international collegiate chapters.

“This is a huge deal, staying at the top of the chain and being the best chapter in the country,” Angel Ramirez, an off-campus senator, said. “So I think that any way we can try and help make this happen, along with them doing their part, I think we should definitely do.”

The bill passed 18-0-2.

Other news:

Senate confirmed the appointment of the new Intergovernmental Affairs Director Scott Small, the former Mascot Coordinator for the 2016-17 academic year.
