Round-the-clock fitness has come to Eau Claire.
The 24-hour fitness center, Anytime Fitness, will have its grand opening in Eau Claire from March 10 to 15.
The new center has two locations in the city, one in the Waterford Complex on Main Street, and the second in a familiar place to UW-Eau Claire students, 329 Water St., where Kerm’s grocery store stood over a year ago.
Holly Stiner, a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness, said the gym and health club always offers special rates to students and seniors (65 and older). However, during the grand opening week, Stiner said there will be discounted rates across the board. A benefit of a membership at Anytime Fitness is the accessibility to the center, which is only available to members, she said, adding that Anytime Fitness also offers top of the line equipment, and cleanliness.
“Once you’re a member, you have access 24-hours a day,” Stiner said. Members may also visit all Anytime Fitness locations, she added.
Whether it’s membership for a student, senior, or a family, the program choices are affordable, Stiner said.
“There’s so many different packages,” she said.
Junior Ashley Lund, who said she had heard of Anytime Fitness before, thought that 24-hours a day is a good option for students, because of class and work schedules.
“Being able to go in anytime,” Lund said, would be a good option for students, and if they’re trying to attract students, prices need to be affordable, she added.
Stiner said that quite a few students have joined Anytime Fitness already.
The club also offers tanning, which is an added cost to membership, and there are different price options there as well. However, tanning is not offered 24-hours a day, Stiner said.
Stiner said there will be many activities during the grand opening, such as free blood pressure tests, free body fat tests and there will be food and beverages provided by different area vendors.
“We’ll have prizes that (current) members and new members can win,” Stiner said. Area businesses will provide these prizes and there will also be T-shirts and water bottles, she added.
During the week, there will be a chiropractor to give MYOvision spinal screenings. Also, while nothing has been confirmed yet, Stiner said that they’re hoping to have chair massages as well.
“We want to get word out to people that we’re convenient and affordable.”
