School bookstore contract goes to national chain

The University Bookstore will outsource the operation of the store early next year.
Barnes and Noble will take over operation of the bookstore when the contract begins in February 2001. It ends June 30, 2007.
Student Senate President Justin Hentges said he sees this as a good move for the school.
“I think it will be better for the university and the students at the university,” he said.
A committee of student senators unanimously approved the proposal for Barnes and Noble to take over operation.
The bookstore will run as usual when it is taken over in February, Hentges said.
The layout of the bookstore will be reconfigured and there will be extra cash registers, new display merchandise, accent carpeting and promotional signs.
