Spring Break

Scott Hansen is a senior print journalism major with a topical minor in film studies. This is his sixth semester on the Spectator staff. After his second stint last semester as a chief copy editor and other semesters as Showcase/Scene editor, copy editor and Editorial page editor, Scott is ready to use his experience as Managing Editor. Scott hopes to some day be a movie critic for a newspaper or reputable magazine like Entertainment Weekly while being a film study professor at a reputable college on the side.
When not cheering on his favorite sports teams (San Francisco 49ers, Orlando Magic, Florida Marlins, and San Jose Sharks) or visiting Chicago to see where scenes from "The Dark Knight" were filmed, Scott loves to watch movies, most notably "The Dark Knight," “Jaws,” any of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films and last but not least, “The Notebook.” He also loves to make food, as Rachael Ray is one of his many inspirations and personal heroes along with chef Gordon Ramsey of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Additionally, Scott likes to undertake eating challenges his roommate and friends create, such as eating a jar of peanut butter in 30 minutes, a five-pound burger in 30 minutes, or eating a six-pound burrito in 90 minutes.
