Swimming and diving teams fall to La Crosse

The UW-Eau Claire men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams traveled to UW-La Crosse over the weekend to compete in a WIAC dual meet at the Mitchell Hall Aquatics Center.

On the men’s side of things many individuals had strong performances, however, it wasn’t enough as they dropped their meet 154-88 .

Senior Jake McDade won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:01.62. McDade also finished second in the 1000 freestyle posting a time of 10:17.03.

Junior Kyle Kackman won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.39.  Kackman finished ahead of freshman teammate Dayton Miller, who earned a second place finish with a time of 1:03.05.

Sophomore Ryan Young won the 100 butterfly finishing the race in 54.24 seconds, and his sophomore teammate Ben Fisher placed second in the 50 freestyle finishing the distance in 22.41 seconds.

On the women’s side of things, the scores pretty much turned out the same way in a 98-145 loss to the Eagles.
