Jacobson sets school record for receptions in a game in loss to St. Thomas

It came to one final possession before the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds ultimately bowed out to No. 11 St. Thomas (Minn.) Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.

The Blugolds fell down 22-3 early in the second half, but a late rally gave them a chance at pulling off a huge upset on the road.

Jake Neis scored on a touchdown run with a minute to go in the third quarter, and in the fourth, Mark Munger hit Cody Gerver three yards out with two minutes to play.

Eau Claire recovered an onside kick before Munger was picked off to seal the deal for the Tommies.

Munger had himself a day, throwing for a career-high 298 yards on 33 completions.

Korey Jacobson broke a school record by catching a whopping 17 receptions on the day, totalling 107 yards throughout the contest.

Eau Claire opens at home against St. John’s (Minn.) Saturday night at Carson Park.
