Blugolds win 79-69 in Michigan, jump to 14-9 overall

The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team led by as many as 27 points and shot nearly 39 percent from behind the 3-point arc Saturday afternoon en route to a 79-69 win at Finlandia University (Mich.). The victory pushes the Blugolds to 14-9 on the season, and keeps the team at 7-7 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team fell for the second time this season to UW-Oshkosh at McPhee Center Friday night with a score of 173.275, about 5 points below their conference rivals. The team came away from the dual meet with two first-place finishes on vault and the uneven bars.

Men's Hockey The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team fell Saturday night 5-4 against UW-Stevens Point in their final regular-season game. The Blugolds got on the board first with a goal less than a minute into the game. Senior Jesse Vesel scored 43 seconds into the game, with the goal assisted by senior Sean Garrity and freshman Tyler Romasco.

Blugolds suffer first shutout in Superior

The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team has overcome injuries and upsets all season long. However, one thing still stands in the way of a successful season. The penalty kill. The Blugolds lost to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association rival UW-Superior 4-1 on Friday, surrendering three power-play goals to the Yellowjackets at Wessman Arena in Superior.

Blugolds dive through national-qualifying scores in McPhee

The stands of the McPhee pool were filled with Blugold supporters as the UW-Eau Claire diving team dove into its last home invite of the season against UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh and NCAA Div. II Minnesota State University-Mankato. Eau Claire's diving head coach Deb Beachel said the team had performed well during the meet, and she was pleased with what they did.
