American media ignores important concepts

The Los Angeles Times recently reviewed the story of 17 Chinese nationals who were ordered to be released from the "enemy combatant" detention center at Guantanamo Bay. The piece was intended to discuss the domestic ramifications of the Bush administration's ambiguous legal policies in holding such prisoners in jurisdictional limbo.

Canada jail sets dangerous precedent by releasing prisoner

If Fat Joe ever plans on committing a crime, he may want to travel to Canada to do it. According to a Nov. 13 Associated Press article, a 430-pound convict has been granted early parole by a two-officer parole board because a Canadian prison cannot accommodate his frame.
