For the second straight week the UW-Eau Claire offense got off to a fast start thanks to junior quarterback Kyle Paulson. Paulson threw for a career high 307-yards and four touchdowns as the Blugolds defeated rival UW-La Crosse 35-21 Saturday night. Junior tight-end Brett Schreiner was the beneficiary of Paulson's big night as he also set a career high mark with 129-yards receiving and two touchdowns.

The UW-Eau Claire athletics programs are off to one of the most successful starts in recent history. The Blugold football team began its season 4-1 after defeating UW-La Crosse this weekend, and is currently the eighth ranked division III football team in the country.
