Homecoming shutout

Football blanks UW-Oshkosh 34-0

The UW-Eau Claire Blugolds jumped out to an early lead Saturday in front of a packed stadium at Carson Park. It was another solid performance by the defense, but for the first time this year, the offense clicked on all cylinders. The defense held on for the shutout as the Blugolds won 34-0.

The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team continued their solid play and picked up two more victories this weekend against UW-Whitewater and Carleton College (Minn.). In Saturday's game against Whitewater both teams struggled to gain control as the game began.

Men's Cross Country The UW-Eau Claire men's cross country team took third place out of 19 teams this weekend as they hosted the Blugold Open. The Blugolds finished only 10 points out of first place behind St. Thomas (Minn.) and St. Olaf (Minn.). The Blugolds went into the meet ranked 24th in the nation and looked to improve on that ranking.
