Blugolds ready for Homecoming

School spirit, parades, and of course, partying are all part of homecoming week at local colleges. Another important part of homecoming is football. Saturday the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds will take on the UW-Oshkosh Titans in the 2008 homecoming game at Carson Park.

The UW-Eau Claire tennis team traveled to River Falls to play a match against the UW-River Falls Falcons Tuesday. The Blugolds brought with them a five match winning streak, while the Falcons brought a four match winning streak. Eau Claire's record of 11-5 is not as good as River Falls' 7-2 record in terms of winning percentage; however, the Blugolds' 3-1 record in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) matches is better than the Falcons' 1-2 WIAC record.

Women's soccer stays undefeated

The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team maintained its almost-spotless season last night with a 2-1 road win over Macalester College (Minn.). The Blugolds moved to 10-0-2 with the win - nearly as impressive as last year's 11-0-1 start - and improved its all-time record against Macalester to 3-8-1.
