As such, I was given a master key and made in charge of all the new student workers. We students and our supervisors are easy to get along with and generally nice people all around. We go around campus fixing everything as best we can; making sure everything works, nothing is broken and nothing's dangerous. Thanks to Housing for handing out free florescent bulbsByIn response to the article "Halls aim to make going green easy" in the 9/15/08 issue, I'd like to say compact florescent bulbs save up to 75 percent on your lighting bill which is not a small amount. Besides, the CFL bulb students received was free and it will produce higher light output (lumens) than stated by the manufacturer for more than five years. Campus should stop lawn watering; keep going greenByAs a firm believer in the "if it's yellow let it mellow" rule and an avid recycler, I not only support our university's efforts in "going green" but also admire its attempts at doing so. From "Trayless Tuesdays" and disposable cups courtesy of the campus dining services, to the compact florescent light bulbs distributed throughout the residence halls, the university really has made a conscious effort in reducing our ecological footprint. |
