Swimmers handle weekend competition

Freshmen show up big in home victories Friday, Saturday

For being such a young group of athletes, the UW-Eau Claire swimming and diving team certainly didn't show it this weekend. The Blugolds won their first two meets of the year, beating UW-Oshkosh on Friday and winning the Midwest Coed Relays on Saturday. Both events this weekend were held at the McPhee Physical Education Center.

Women place third of 27, men No. 14 of 25 Saturday in Drews/Neubauer Invite

The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team continues to roll through its season, while the men's team is still finding its way following Saturday's Drews/Neubauer Invite, held in West Salem. The women ran to the top of the event's lineup and improved to 93-16 on the season, while the men registered near the middle of the meet's lineup, moving to 52-55.

Tennis team beats La Crosse 6-3

The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team finished out its regular season Saturday with a 6-3 victory over UW-La Crosse at McPhee Center. The win improved Eau Claire's record to 14-4 overall, including an 8-3 record in dual matches and a 5-1 record in conference play.

Blugolds finish game with 1-1 draw against conference opponent

The UW-Eau Claire soccer team, fresh off a 2-1 loss Wednesday to top-ranked Wheaton College (Ill.), finished Saturday's conference match at UW-Oshkosh in a 1-1 draw. The Titans scored early in the first half, and the game remained a stalemate for the rest of the first half and well into the second.
