Eau Claire was cast in a blend of green and gold Wednesday when members of the Green Bay Packers came to town as part of the team's "Tailgate Tour" through four cities across Wisconsin. During the day, Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers, Nick Barnett and Mark Tauscher signed autographs and raised money for charity.

The Joint Finance Committee has agreed to remove 48 non-fiscal items from the 2007-2009 state budget. Among the items removed is a proposal to grant state employees in domestic partnerships access to health care benefits similar to those offered to other state employees.

Six days after the Recording Industry Association of America filed 53 "Doe" subpoenas against the UW System, including 10 against UW-Eau Claire, many are still wondering exactly how the whole process works. Harry Hertel, an attorney with Legal Services, a program that offers legal counsel to UW-Eau Claire students through the Student Services Commission of Student Senate, said such subpoenas are usually filed during ongoing lawsuits.

Third graduation ceremony possible

Chancellor, cabinet also discuss student absences, input on faculty hiring

Adding a third ceremony is one of the possible solutions to the capacity problem at graduation, according to members of the year's last Chancellor's Roundtable discussion held Thursday afternoon. UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich and members of his cabinet addressed complaints of a lack of seating at graduation ceremonies along with other student issues at the discussion.
