Abstract:
A bill that will be announced in the state Senate this month by State Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay, would allow faculty and academic staff on UW campuses to collectively bargain if they so choose....
Today the University faculty have no input, no recourse, no way to advocate for themselves as a group. In America this situation was called slavery compounded by tyranny of the government in the Revolution and plain slavery in the 19th century. If the people of Wisconsin are that uninterested in the value of education than they will sink to the leave of poverty, ignorance and disease typically associated with less developed areas. Robert LaFollette and the other great Progressive politicians who built this state into a powerhouse with the support of enlightened, educated people will roll over in their graves. The choice rests with the people--ignorance and poverty or education and prosperity.
