Tavern League fights smoking ban

Abstract:
July 1 marked the first day of Eau Claire's citywide smoking ban. Not even three months later, people are taking action against it - most notably the Tavern League of Wisconsin.

The tavern league has been the biggest impendiment to a state wide ban. Several polls have shown that the majority of the people are in favor of a state wide ban. It's a sad day when a group of bar owners dictate state policy.

You have no idea how nice the smoking ban is until you live someplace where it's in place.

I live in Hudson, WI and I go to the restaurants and bars in Minnesota since they are smoke free. Wisconsin should take a lesson from Minnesota. Even the places in the St Paul and Minneapolis had no issue during the Republican convention. The patrons are provided an area separate or outside at these places and have grown accustomed to going to those locations to smoke. At first there was a drop off of business because some counties did not do the ban . Then since the state passed a ban it does not affect any one area it is state wide.
