The votes are in. The newest signature Erbert & Gerberts sub to hit campus is (drumroll please) …
chicken, bacon, ranch.

This sandwich now served at the Erbert & Gerberts at the Davies Marketplace — is the first speciality sandwich of its kind. Kathy Binder, Blugold Dining marketing manager, said creating a university specific sub was part of negotiations when the university was debating which sub shop to put in Davies.

From it’s revealing on Nov. 7 to Monday, almost 85 people had tried out the new menu option. Binder said they have heard positive reviews on the permanent
campus sandwich.

This is the first time Erbert & Gerberts has made a unique signature sub. Binder said it has been successful so far.

“We were kind of the guinea pigs and we were the first ones to do it, so it’s kind of exciting,” Binder said.

The sub toppings were decided with a campus wide submission and voting process. Over 100 sandwich combinations were submitted and over 500 votes were counted to pick the sandwich, which was created by Angel Prochnow, student records specialist with university records and registrations.

Binder said before this sub, ranch was not offered at any Erb & Gerbs sandwich shop, but it was the most requested item from students.

Ranch and bacon will also be available as add-ons for all
other sandwiches.
