Regents approve Commitment

Today the UW System Board of Regents voted 14-2 in favor of the Blugold Commitment.

The approval allows UW-Eau Claire to increase tuition $1,200, to be phased in over four years, with the requirement that Eau Claire come back by May with more specific information about where the money will go, according to a University issued press release.

Regent members credited Eau Claire students for taking stances on the issue, regardless of which side they were on, according to the press release.

They added that by requiring the university to come back with a less ambiguous explanation of where the money will go, they hoped it would help relieve students concerns, the release said.
